The core lab was expending limited resources on down packaging FBS into smaller sized packaging (100 mL) to simplify the process of aliquoting FBS by the labs and researchers supported by the core lab. The core lab desired a solution that would allow them to reduce waste and the space requirements associated with managing the larger 500 mL bottles and the time-consuming process of down packaging.
GeminiBio collaborated with the core lab to provide large lots of FBS custom manufactured and packaged in 100 mL size bottles, which was not a catalogue offering within GeminiBio’s product portfolio. This smaller sized container better met the core lab’s needs and streamlined their workflow while still addressing the needs of the researchers serviced by the core lab.
Furthermore, this reduced plastic waste and allowed the core lab to easily stock multiple freezers to support researchers across the entire institution.
