The lab struggled with the variability typically associated with FBS lots from their suppliers, which created risk and extra work for the lab’s personnel as they worked to optimize cell proliferation. The lab required a single large lot of their best performing FBS but had limited space and resources to store and manage FBS inventory on-site.
GeminiBio collaborated with the lab to sample multiple large lots of FBS to identify a lot that supported their cell proliferation requirements. Once the specific lot was identified, GeminiBio reserved that lot for the lab, and offered complementary cold storage (-20C) in GeminiBio’s ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820 compliant facility, allowing the lab to use a single lot for a majority of their research project.
The lab was able to achieve consistent cell culture results without extending additional resources for testing and managing the inventory on-site.
