GeminiBio Appoints Jay Somera to its Board of Directors Sacramento, California – October 27, 2026 – Gemini Bioproducts, LLC (“GeminiBio” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of BelHealth Investment Partners, LLC(“BelHealth”), a Florida-based healthcare private equity firm, today announced the appointment of Jay Somera to its Board of Directors. Somera recently joined BelHealth as a Partner.
Somera is a proven healthcare entrepreneur and a key architect of BelHealth’s successful 2021 exit of American Health Staffing Group (“AHSG”). He is best known as the founder of Thaxton Interim Leadership, LLC (“Thaxton”), a premier provider of interim healthcare leadership that grew into part of a nationwide top-10 healthcare staffing platform under the AHSG umbrella. Before founding Thaxton in 2013, Somera led high-level talent acquisition strategy for Kaiser Permanente across the Pacific Northwest. He is the owner of Healthcare Executive Placements and Azad, Inc.
“GeminiBio has built a differentiated position by being designed into its customers’ processes, from human AB serum for cell therapy to custom process liquids built into clinical and commercial-stage biologic drugs,” said Somera. “Those relationships are a strong foundation for growth. I look forward to working with Brian, the management team, and my fellow board members to help GeminiBio scale with discipline and capture the opportunity in cell therapy and bioprocessing.”
“We are pleased to welcome Jay to the GeminiBio board,” said Brian Parker, Chief Executive Officer of GeminiBio. “Jay has built and scaled businesses and knows what it takes to attract and develop great talent. His operating experience will be a valuable resource to me and our team as we expand with our cell therapy and biopharma customers.”
