To meet the stringent needs of biotechnology research and production customers, the company’s cell culture sera and bioprocess liquid manufacturing facilities are segregated between animal origin-free cGMP manufacturing and animal component cGMP manufacturing. GeminiBio is an ISO 13485 certified, FDA registered Class 1 Medical Device Manufacturer, aligned with 21 CFR Part 820.

Position Summary

As a Cell Culture Solutions Sales Specialist at GeminiBio, your primary focus will be on driving sales of our catalog Cell Culture Solutions and Process Liquids. This entails actively promoting and selling a diverse range of products, including human serum, fetal bovine serum, and GemPure high-purity water products. You’ll collaborate closely with our Process Liquids Solutions Technical Sales Executives (TSEs) to identify and cultivate opportunities for custom cGMP process liquids manufacturing services, aimed at simplifying bioprocess workflows both upstream and downstream.

Your responsibilities will encompass generating, qualifying, and diligently following up on sales leads across various research and biotech/life sciences market segments. Effective collaboration with our channel partners will be crucial for indirectly reaching target customers, while you’ll also be empowered to engage with customers directly when appropriate.

Ultimately, your key objective will be to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, both in terms of revenue and margin. Success in this role will rely on your proactive approach, collaborative spirit, and ability to navigate the complexities of the biotech and life sciences market.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and exhibit extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the research and biotech/ life-science (including bioproduction, gene therapy, and cell therapy) markets to enable effective customer engagement
• Develop and exhibit detailed knowledge of the Cell Culture Solutions and Process Liquid product offering, how these products are used, and demonstrate a clear understanding of the value these products provide to customers
• Effectively collaborate with GeminiBio Process Liquids Solutions Technical Sales Executives (TSEs) and internal cross functional teams to develop and deliver custom products/ solutions to end-customers
• Effectively manage defined sales process from early prospect identification, qualification, needs quantification, presentation, certification, quote, and, ultimately, P.O. receipt
• Possess and demonstrate keen ability to assess/ develop customer needs (i.e., probing and listening skills) and translate that into the customer’s acceptance/ recognition of the need(s)
• Possess and demonstrate highly professional communication skills to ensure effective communication of GeminiBio product/ service features/ benefits and customer value
• Successfully manage customer relationships to drive initial purchase(s) and account growth via share of wallet expansion and customer retention
• Effectively collaborate with channel partners to drive opportunities and revenue

Required Skills and Experience:
• BS in the life sciences, bio-engineering or related field. 5+ years of direct sales experience selling reagents, and workflow solutions into the life sciences markets. Established territory knowledge and key account contacts in research and biotech/ life-science accounts within your territory.
• Possess a hunter mentality with a proven track record of driving lead generation through leveraging next generation techniques (i.e. mining of LinkedIn, NIH grant/clinical-trial databases), and utilizing other social media channels (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook)
• Track record of penetrating and radiating key accounts (Research, Development, Process Development, Manufacturing) within territory.
• SFDC, blue sheet and org chart mapping experience.
• Knowledge of research and drug manufacturing processes
• Experience working with channel partners as well as direct selling
• Excellent and professional communication skills.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in working with SFDC, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge and demonstration of SPIN based selling
• Creative, highly motivated self-starter with good insight and problem-solving skills, and highly able to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and projects

Benefits and Compensation

• Base salary plus commission can range between $95K-$120K per year. Competitive salary/sales incentive plan based on experience.

Environmental Elements & Physical Demands

• Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person, and over the telephone; must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed in the execution of duties.

• Must be able to travel overnight frequently.
