Position Summary

The Biotech Strategic Account Manager oversees the overall sales objectives, goals and revenue of all the sales into Biotech’s within the Northeast territory (MA, NY, RI, CT, NH, VT, and ME)

 

Essential Functions

  • Drive revenue growth through focus on biotech, biopharma, and CDMO’s.
  • Utilize penetrate and radiate account management strategy across key target functional groups, process development, R&D, and manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate knowledge of all products, business strategies, sales tools, and pricing policies, as they relate to the territory.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels in the customer organization.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all activities in Salesforce.
  • Work as part of a team with internal resources.  Communicate with project managers, quality personnel and customer service to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Conduct technical seminars and product demonstrations as appropriate.
  • Represent Gemini Bio-Products at exhibitions and conferences and where necessary give presentations.
  • Maintain consistent customer contact for on-going sales of reagents, consumables, service contracts, additional equipment, as well as finding new sales prospects from existing users.
  • Assist in follow-up of existing users to assure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reports to management of sales activities, status of sales leads, and projected monthly sales with key in month opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS in biology, bio-engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years lab bench experience in a research laboratory is preferred but not required. 
  • 5+ years of direct sales experience in the life science or related field.
  • Established region knowledge and key account contacts in biotech, biopharma and CMO/CRO accounts within your region.
  • Possess a hunter mentality with a proven track record of driving lead generation through leveraging next generation techniques (ie mining of LinkedIn, NIH grant/clinical-trial databases).
  • Highly degree of knowledge of the life science industry.
  • Experience selling into regulated markets.
  • Excellent communication skills, SFDC, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and demonstration of SPIN based selling.
  • Creative, highly motivated self-starter with good insight and problem-solving skills, and highly able to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and projects.
